Haijima Yoji

Artist, editor

Born in Tokyo in 1931. Began painting seriously in early 1950s. Participated early in career in Bijyutsu Bunka Art Association, Shinsho Artist Association, and Yomiuri Independent exhibitions and subsequently exhibited in numerous solo and group shows. Served residency in 2005 at Aomori Contemporary Art Center. Captured attention with Gutenberg Carbonizations series, starting in 2009.
